Here is the bicycle I used on the Bianchi final renderings - they sell it here: http://www.cadooku.com/product/view?sku=2234 ...so nice not to be building a bike in solidworks during finals!
Here's the project from my exhibition design class last spring - this tradeshow booth for Bianchi Bikes would hypothetically be set up at the Eurobike trade show in Germany. My goal for this project was to take a comany with a really rich heritage (120+years!) and a history of being an innovator in the cycling industry, play off of that and then send the message that they are making calculated progress forward.
Design wise, I wanted the structure to convey lightness and motion, but also precision and a mechanical feel, all while considering the practical side of how this exhibit would be packed up and loaded onto a truck!
Below are the highlights of the project - let me know what you think :)
Here's the project I was working on last fall: it's a redesign of the packaging and carry case system for Onetouch, a blood glucose meter for people with diabetes. The central concept is that you insert the cylindrical test strip dispenser (also a complete redesign from the traditional package) into the carry case, and when you turn the cover to a certain angle, it automatically dispenses. The lancing device is hidden in the case underneath the meter, which is visible. The logo and identity of the brand were redesigned as well for a fresher aesthetic. When the case is packaged inside the box, which has a major material reduction from the current product, the plastic of the case's top bulges through, letting the user see the meter inside, therfore eliminating the need for plastic material on the box as well.
Here are some drawings, logo development, and physical model shots from the term project back in summer 2009.. the concept was to redesign a Long Beach building into a childrens' interactive, educational bookstore. Integrated into the shelves of books and media are exhibits about our ecosystem and how to preserve it, that engage kids and parents into better understanding the world around us.
